Down From Heaven

DOWN FROM HEAVEN

from the Ken Rabow Musical Down From Heaven ©1999

story-teller

Sometimes I'd like to shout the message.

Sometimes I'd like to scream it out.

There's a time bomb ticking on the other side.

If I could take you there, would you go for a ride?

I know you cannot see or hear

Sometimes I'd like to call you my friend.

Sometimes I'd like to shoot you down.

You're not even listening and you don't care

Afraid to live 'cause you don't dare.

Sometimes it makes me want to cry

CHORUS

Down from Heaven, down from Heaven.

Down from Heaven, down from Heaven.

Down from Heaven.

It's been so long since I've been down

STORY-TELLER

Who are these men of God on TV?

Why do they thrive while others starve?

Can they really believe in a Judgement Day,

when the people learn to hate from the words they say.

Sometimes I wish He'd end it all.

You must know no one else can help you.

You must know only you can pray.

The words of the Prophets, they are all inside you.

Leaders can't help, they can only hide you.

Sometime I wish I really had died for you.
